Welcome
The 2016 Colloquium will be hosted by Victoria University of Wellington, (Kelburn campus) from Monday 5 December to Thursday 8 December. Thursday will be dedicated to Mathematics Education and may be registered for separately from the remainder of the colloquium. There will be a reception for attendees on the evening of Sunday 4 December 2016.
The annual Colloquium brings together the mathematical community of New Zealand while welcoming overseas visitors to join us.
Time will be dedicated to the discussion of all aspects of pure and applied mathematics and statistics. Talks will be given by internationally recognised leaders in the field and also by emerging researchers and postgraduate students.
Math Education Day
Is held on Thursday 8 December. A separate registration which closes on 29 November is at this link. Its FREE to attend the education day, however, to submit your abstract please do so here by Friday 18 November 2016.

Payment
Payment for the conference is by credit card only. A 3% credit card transaction fee will apply to each registration transaction. If there are multiple staff and or students attending from the one institution, you CAN PAY for all these delegates through the registration system.
Cancellation Policy/Refunds
Cancellation up to Friday 18 November 2016 full refund.
NO refund on any cancellation after Friday 18 November 2016.

Welcome Reception
There will be a welcome reception held on Sunday 4 December 2016, Victoria University, Alan McDiarmid Building (opposite Wishbone), Room AM102, Kelburn Parade, Kelburn Campus, from 5-6.30pm, with registration from 5pm. Entry is at the top of Kelburn Parade, walk under the construction site, left up the stairs next to Wishbone.
If you are driving, you can park any where in the staff carparking area located at Gate 7 to attend the welcome reception.
Note: Five (5) carparks on Kelburn campus will be available and priority is given to delegates with mobility concerns and travelling 50km or more. Carparks are available from 5-7 December 2016. If you wish to book a carpark, please email Ginny Whatarau your vehicle registration, car make and model, dates you require the carpark and distance you are travelling from to attend the Colloquium. Delegates will receive a confirmation email along with a map where to park your vehicle no later then 1 December 2016
Dinner
The Colloquium Dinner will be on Tuesday 6 December 2016, starts at 7pm until late and held at the Wellesley Boutique Hotel . The venue is 2-8 Maginnity Street, Wellington. Approximately 15 minute walk from the university campus or approximately $10 taxi fare from Victoria University, Kelburn Campus.
The dinner fee is included in the registration which is a christmas menu buffet and limited wine and juice on the table. A cash bar will be available during the night.
Additional dinner tickets can be purchased through the registration system at $70 per head (GST included)
Accommodation
There is a block booking reserved for delegates attending the NZMS Colloquium 2016 at University Hall - Weir House - Bed and Breakfast
Single Rooms cost $69 per person, per night, shared bathroom.
Ensuite rooms $111 per room per night, 2 person occupancy, double bed
Bookings are done through our online registration system. Please ensure you know your exact arrival and departure dates.
Note: Carparking is available at Weir House for $10 per day

Childcare Services
Funding is available for people with childcare responsibilities to help cover costs for child care whilst attending the NZMS Colloquium 2016. Funds could be used depending on the individual circumstances, e.g.: extra childcare costs back in the attendee's home town/city, additional accommodation/travel costs relating to a caregiver coming with the attendee to attend the meeting, as well as childcare costs at the event etc. Parents / childcare minders are expected to arrange their care.
