Excursions

There is no need to pre-book or register interest for the excursion (Wednesday afternoon) before the conference.

We recommend the must-do activity in Tauranga: a walk around Mount Maunganui.

This is a short drive or taxi ride form the conference venue; if you would like to go by bus we will lead a group from the conference venue (details to be announced during the conference). The bus costs $3.00 each way and the journey is 25 minutes.

For those catching a bus at a different time to the main group, take bus 1 from stop 80 on Dive Crescent (north towards highway 2 from the conference venue) towards the direction "Mount Maunganui" and get off on Adams Avenue - you will see "the Mount" (a hill at the end of a peninsula) in front of you - it is hard to miss! At time of writing the bus leaves at 9 past and 39 past each hour. Return buses leave at 20 minutes and 50 minutes past the hour.

It takes roughly forty minutes to walk around the Mount (a gentle walk). Bring your swimming gear - there are beaches nearby and also some hot pools at the base of the mount which are very relaxing. There are also many nice cafes and places to eat.
