The 2020 New Zealand Mathematical Society Colloquium will be hosted by the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Auckland University of Technology over the period of 1-2 December 2020.

Virtual Format

This year the Colloquium will use a virtual format.

Since COVID-19 has changed our academic delivery dramatically, we have decided that this year’s NZMS colloquium will run in a theme-based format on the following two themes:

Each theme will have 3 or 4 speakers (each speaker will present a talk for 10-15 minutes), followed by panel discussions, and questions from conference participants.

In addition to the above themes, this year’s colloquium will also include the Butcher–Kalman lecture, organised special sessions, and the society’s other activities.

There will be no call for general contributed talks this year, but there is the opportunity to participate in (or organise) special interest sessions which will be held on Wednesday afternoon.

Viewing the Colloquium

The colloquium will take place on microsoft teams. This can be accessed either by downloading the

client (which is recommended for ease of use), or simply through your web browser (Chrome and newer

versions of Edge work best).

Links to each session and viewing information has been sent by email to all registered participants. If you have registered and not received this, please contact Michael Lockyer
